Jeff Rodus has over 20 years of experience in municipal finance, budgeting and intergovernmental relations in New York City government. Most recently he served as Deputy Chief of Staff to City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito. In this role he advised the Speaker and Council Members on fiscal and budget issues, policy matters, public debt and economic development. He was the lead negotiator on the City’s $75 billion expense budget and $40 billion capital budget.
Prior to becoming Deputy Chief of Staff, Jeff was the First Deputy Director of the City Council’s Finance Division. He managed the development and implementation of the Council’s more than $400 million capital program.
In addition, Jeff was an adjunct professor at Baruch College. As an adjunct professor, he developed a curriculum for and taught a Master’s level course in budgeting, accounting and financial analysis.
He has received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Baruch College, the Thomas Jefferson Democratic Club’s Man of the Year Award and the Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty Chesed Award.
Jeff has a BA in Political Science from SUNY Stony Brook and an MPA from Baruch College.
